Our Story

Since 1988, Ana has worked at several hospitals, home health and private practices. She has provided nutrition consulting to patients with needs that include Diabetes, Weight Management, Cardiovascular Disease, Hyperlipidemia, Digestive Disorders, and Thyroid Disorders. She helped her patients to achieve improved health, weight loss, and overall well-being.

Since then, she has become a successful entrepreneur who, since 1990, started, developed, and has grown a successful business through the creation of Living Well Menus, Inc.

At ALFCaregivercon 2025, we’re proud to spotlight the TRIO Talent Search ASPIRE/REACH Program at Broward College—a transformative, no-cost, pre-college initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Education. This program identifies and supports students in grades 6–12 across Broward County who show promise for postsecondary success.

For caregivers raising youth navigating middle and high school, TRIO ASPIRE offers critical support in planning for life beyond graduation—from improving academic outcomes to building college and career readiness.

Program Bio

The TRIO Talent Search ASPIRE/REACH at Broward College is a free, federally funded pre-college program designed to identify and support youth in grades 6–12 at target schools in Broward County who have the potential to pursue and succeed in postsecondary education. The program equips students with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to navigate their academic journey confidently.

Since October 2021, Talent Search ASPIRE has been working diligently to break the cycle of the region’s historically low 37% post-secondary attendance rate. By building meaningful relationships with BRACE advisors, who serve as key liaisons to students in under-resourced areas, our team has connected directly with those who need support the most. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of TRIO Talent Search, thousands of students have successfully enrolled in colleges, universities, and technical programs across the country.

Program Objectives

Florida Atlantic University – Family Caregiver Research Study

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is conducting a research study focused on the experiences of unpaid or family caregivers supporting older adults with Alzheimer’s or related dementias. Led by William R. McConnell, PhD (Principal Investigator) and María de los Ángeles Ortega, DNP, APRN (Co-Investigator), this study aims to gather valuable insights from caregivers to improve resources and support for others in similar roles.

The study is open to English or Spanish-speaking adults (18+) who assist an older adult with a memory-related condition. Participants are invited to share their experiences in a confidential 60–90 minute interview conducted either in person at the Louis and Anne Green Memory & Wellness Center in Boca Raton or remotely via Zoom. As a token of appreciation, participants will receive a $50 gift card upon completion.
